What this filter does for the line
The Schneider VW3A46134 is a passive harmonic filter designed for Altivar variable-speed drives. It knocks line current distortion down to 5 % THDI on drives up to 280 kW/450 hp (ATV61H, ATV71H, ATV61Q) and 110 kW/150 hp (ATV630, ATV930). That THDI number is what it delivers at the drive's rated load — not an idle spec. Rated for 262 A output side, 252 A input side, at 400 V ±10 %, 50 Hz ±2 %. Efficiency is 98 %, so thermal losses run 1288 W at full load — account for that heat in the enclosure sizing. The filter meets G5/4 engineering recommendation plus IEC 61000-2-2, -2-4, -3-2, -3-4, and -3-12 standards — covers both emission limits and compatibility levels for industrial networks.
IP20 base unit; IP55 when enclosure-mounted. Power terminals accept 25 to 300 mm² cable; the control terminals (A, B, X1-1 through X2-3) take 2.5 mm². One filter per drive for the ATV630 and ATV930 wall-mount versions; two filters in parallel for the larger ATV61H, ATV71H, and ATV61Q units. Operating ambient is 5 to 45 °C without derating; above that, derate 3 % per °C up to 60 °C. Above 1000 m altitude, derate 5 % per additional 1000 m. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: 2 mm peak-to-peak at 5–13.2 Hz, 0.7 gn at 13.2–150 Hz.
