The VW3A46135 is a passive harmonic filter from Schneider Electric's Altivar accessory range, designed to reduce current harmonics drawn by variable-speed drives. It's rated for 304 A input and 316 A output at 400 V +/- 10 %, 50 Hz, and achieves a THDI of 5 % with Altivar drives — ATV61, ATV71, ATV630, and ATV930 — covering motor ratings from 132 kW/200 hp up to 355 kW.
The 5 % THDI figure means this filter brings the drive's input current distortion down to that level, which is typically enough to meet IEC 61000-3-4 and G5/4 engineering recommendation limits without needing a larger, more expensive active filter. At 98 % efficiency, the 1288 W thermal loss is the heat you have to vent from the enclosure — plan the cabinet cooling accordingly. The filter is rated for continuous operation at 45 °C without derating; above that, derate 3 % per °C up to 60 °C. Above 1000 m altitude, derate 5 % per 1000 m.
The filter carries IP20 as standard, with IP55 available when enclosure-mounted. It's a three-phase passive filter with Class F insulation. Terminals accept 25 to 300 mm² cable on the main power connections, with 2.5 mm² on the control terminals. Vibration resistance is 2 mm peak-to-peak at 5 to 13.2 Hz and 0.7 gn at 13.2 to 150 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6. Storage temperature range is -25 to 65 °C; operating range is 5 to 45 °C without derating.
