The VW3A46149 is a passive filter designed to reduce current harmonics on the line side of Schneider Altivar variable speed drives. It is rated for 99 A output current, 460 V nominal, 60 Hz supply, and is intended for one filter per drive on models including ATV61, ATV71, ATV630, ATV650, ATV930, and ATV950 at 55 kW / 75 hp.
THDI varies by drive pairing: 10 % with ATV61W, ATV630, ATV650, ATV930, ATV950; 16 % with ATV61H, ATV71H, ATV71W — so the same filter delivers different harmonic attenuation depending on the drive it sits in front of. That matters when you are sizing to meet IEEE 519 or G5/4 at a specific point of common coupling. Power factor correction is load-dependent: cos phi reaches 1 at 150 % line current, drops to 0.85 at 75 % load, and sits at 0.99 at full load. The filter itself draws negligible reactive current at rated conditions. Efficiency is 98 %, meaning 2 % of the throughput power is lost as heat — 428 W thermal loss at full load. That heat must be ventilated; the filter carries IP20 as standard and IP55 when enclosure-mounted, so plan for cabinet airflow if the panel is sealed. Overload capability: 1.5 x nominal current for 60 seconds — enough to ride through a motor acceleration or a short-term load spike without nuisance tripping.
The filter is a 3-phase device, 480 V ±10 %, 60 Hz ±2 %. Ambient operating range is 5…45 °C without derating; above that, derate 3 % per °C up to 60 °C. Mounting altitude above 1000 m requires derating 5 % per 1000 m. Storage temperature is -25…55 °C in original packaging, -25…65 °C during transport. Electrical connection uses A/B terminals for control wiring (2.5 mm²) and X1-1…X2-3 terminals for power (10…70 mm²).
