The Schneider VW3A4622 is a passive filter designed to reduce current harmonics on Altivar variable-speed drives. This filter is intended for one-per-drive installation on specific Altivar models — ATV61, ATV71, and ATV61W/ATV71W compact variants — in the 4 kW to 5.5 kW power band. The THDI performance depends on the drive model: 10 % for standard ATV61/ATV71 drives, and 5 % for the wider-body ATV61W/ATV71W units. The unit connects via a 16 mm² terminal block, is rated IP20 for enclosure mounting, and operates without derating between 5 °C and 40 °C ambient. Above 40 °C, derate current by 3 % per °C up to 55 °C maximum.
The 10 A rated current (In) sets the maximum continuous fundamental current the filter can carry. It matches the input current of the target drives — the ATV61HU40N4 (4 kW) and ATV61HU55N4 (5.5 kW) among others — so one filter per drive is the correct topology. THDI of 10 % for standard ATV61/ATV71 drives means the filter reduces total harmonic current distortion to 10 % of the fundamental at full load. For the wide-body ATV61W/ATV71W variants, THDI drops to 5 %, which is useful for installations with stricter harmonic limits. Power factor correction is load-dependent: the filter achieves cos φ of 0.99 at 100 % line current, 0.85 at 75 %, and unity (1.0) at 150 % overload. This is a passive characteristic — no active switching, so the filter simply presents a near-unity displacement factor across the normal operating band.
