The Schneider VW3A5207 is a sinus output filter rated 200 A continuous, designed to sit between an Altivar variable speed drive and the motor. It converts the PWM output of the drive into a near-sinusoidal voltage waveform, reducing motor heating, bearing currents, and acoustic noise — critical on long cable runs or with older motor insulation. Rated for 500 V AC maximum, it handles switching frequencies from 4 to 8 kHz and delivers up to 100 Hz output. The 945 W thermal loss at 100 Hz means the enclosure must vent that heat; IP00 construction requires cabinet mounting with clearance for airflow.
The 200 A rated current (In) is the continuous base; the filter can handle 1.5 × In for 60 seconds — enough for motor starting or short overloads without oversizing. Voltage drop at rated load is 10 % — factor that into the motor terminal voltage calculation, especially on long cables where additional drop already exists. Operating temperature range: -10 to 40 °C without derating; above 40 °C up to 50 °C, derate current 1.5 % per °C. At altitude above 1000 m up to 3000 m, derate 1 % per 100 m. Pollution degree 2 per EN 50178 suits typical industrial control panels. Terminal accepts up to 95 mm² / AWG 4/0, torque 20 N·m. Shock rated 15 gn for 11 ms; vibration 1 gn at 13–200 Hz and 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 3–13 Hz — both per IEC 60068-2.
Rated environmental class 3B1, 3C2, 3S1 per IEC 721-3-3. Storage temperature -40 to 65 °C. Relative humidity 0–95 %.
