The VW3A66707 is an enclosed braking resistor from the Schneider Altivar range, rated at 1.3 Ohm with 3100 W average power dissipation. That 3100 W figure is the continuous duty it can sink when the drive decelerates a high-inertia load — conveyor, centrifuge, or fan — and the DC bus voltage rises. The 1.3 Ohm value sets the peak braking torque; lower ohms pull more current from the DC bus, so verify the drive's internal chopper can handle the peak current before wiring this in. Thermal protection is handled externally — either through the drive's own braking transistor monitoring or a separate temperature control switch wired into the safety chain.
Dimensions are 480 mm wide, 545 mm high, 410 mm deep. That depth — 410 mm — is the dimension that usually catches people out on a standard 600 mm deep enclosure; you need clearance behind the mounting plate for the resistor body plus airflow gap. Width and height are generous enough that this is a floor-mount or back-panel bracket job, not a DIN-rail clip. Plan for ventilation around the enclosure; the resistor gets hot during braking cycles and the IP30 housing relies on natural convection, not forced air.
