The VW3A7261 is a line filter module from Schneider Electric, rated 175 kW at 380...480 V AC three-phase, designed as a component of the Active Front End (AFE) system. It carries 255 A line current at 50 °C and dissipates 360 W of thermal losses via natural convection — no fan to fail, but the enclosure must allow free airflow around the finned body.
What it connects to and how it mounts
This module mates specifically with one active infeed converter (AIC) VW3A7251 or VW3A7252, and supplies control electronics plus a 24 V DC fan for that AIC and up to four inverters of the same power class. The electrical connections are bar-type: M10 bars for the line side (1L1, 1L2, 1L3) accepting up to 150 mm², and M12 bars for the load side (2L1, 2L2, 2L3) accepting up to 185 mm², with specified torque values of 24 N·m and 14...31 N·m respectively. The PE connection is an M10 bar at 24 N·m for 95 mm².
Rated for pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1, it operates from -10 to 45 °C (or up to 60 °C with 2 % current derating per °C above 45). Altitude derating starts at 1000 m: 1 % current reduction per 100 m up to 3000 m. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm at 3-10 Hz and 0.6 gn at 10-200 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6; shock resistance is 7 gn for 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27. Humidity tolerance is 0-95 % non-condensing. Environmental class is 3K3/3C2/3S2 per EN/IEC 60721-3-3.
