What this cable does
The VW3L1R402 is a commissioning cable that bridges a USB port on a PC to an RS485 communication interface on a Lexium integrated drive or stepper motor drive. It lets you set or program communication parameters — baud rate, node address, protocol settings — through the drive's serial link. The cable is electrically isolated, so the PC ground stays separate from the drive's control ground, which avoids ground loops during commissioning. One end is a standard USB connector for the PC; the other is a 10-pin connector that mates with the drive's programming port. Cable length is 9.8 ft (3 m), enough to reach from a laptop on a cart to the drive in the cabinet without a USB extension.
