STO Cordset for Lexium 32i — VW3M94CR10
The VW3M94CR10 is a 10 m STO (Safe Torque Off) cordset purpose-built for Schneider Electric's Lexium 32i servo drive series. It connects the drive's safety circuit to the motor or external safety relay via M8 male and female connectors, carrying the two-channel STO signal that meets IEC 61800-5-2 — the functional safety standard for adjustable-speed drive systems. The 4 x 0.34 mm² conductors handle the dual-channel safety loop without voltage drop over the full 10 m run.
IEC 61800-5-2 compliance means this cordset is rated for use in safety-related drive systems up to SIL 3 / PL e — it's not just a generic M8 cable. The 10 m length is the maximum practical run for a two-channel STO loop without signal degradation; if your cabinet-to-motor distance exceeds that, you'd need a safety relay with a longer reach or a different connector scheme. The M8 male-to-female termination locks directly to the Lexium 32i drive's STO port and the motor feedback connector — no adapter, no field wiring of the safety circuit. The 4 x 0.34 mm² conductor cross-section is sized for the low-current safety loop (typically 10–20 mA per channel) and keeps the cable flexible enough for tight cable-carrier routing inside a machine frame. It's not a power cable — don't use it for motor phases or brake wiring.
Deployment Context
In a typical machine cell, this cordset runs from the Lexium 32i drive (mounted in the control cabinet) to the motor connector on the machine frame. The M8 connectors are IP67-rated when mated, so the cordset can pass through a gland plate into a washdown zone — but the drive end stays inside the cabinet. The 10 m length gives enough slack for a cable carrier on a moving gantry or a rotary table.
