The XB5SBIODEMO is a biometric switch from Schneider Electric's Harmony XB5S range, designed as a complete demo case for evaluating fingerprint-based access control on a 22 mm panel-mount operator. It stores up to 200 users with up to two fingerprints each, outputs a PNP signal at 24 V DC, and connects via a pre-wired 2 m cable with free ends plus a USB type A male lead for enrollment.
The IP65 rating on the front face means the operator withstands hose-down and dust ingress when mounted in a panel — suitable for food, beverage, or washdown environments where a standard pushbutton would fail. The 22 mm mounting diameter fits the industry-standard panel cutout, so it replaces a standard 22 mm operator without re-drilling. Supply voltage is 20...30 V DC, so it runs on a standard 24 V DC control supply; current consumption is under 50 mA with no load, leaving headroom on the power budget.
CE marked, and tested to IEC 61000-6-2 (industrial immunity) and IEC 61000-6-4 (emission limits for industrial environments). The front face carries IP65 and NEMA 12 protection; the rear is IP20. Vibration resistance is 1 gn from 9 to 500 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6, and shock resistance is 50 gn for 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27.
