The XCKD2118G11 is a compact limit switch from the Osiswitch line, built for general-duty position sensing on conveyors, transfer lines, and machine guarding stations. The 240 VAC 10 A contact rating handles most control-voltage loads at the panel level — think solenoid valves, contactor coils, or indicator banks — without an interposing relay. The 250 VDC 0.27 A rating is the one that trips people up: DC arcs don't self-extinguish like AC, so this switch is limited to low-current DC pilot circuits, not motor-braking or DC-power switching. The 1NO-1NC contact configuration gives you one form-C set, enough for a safety interlock loop plus a status feedback to the PLC.
Enclosure and connections
Connection is via a PG11 cable gland with screw-clamp terminals inside — a standard ½-inch trade-size entry that accepts 6–12 mm cable. The screw-clamp is field-friendly: strip 8 mm, torque to the terminal rating, and you're done. No special crimp tool needed. The operating temperature range of -13 to 158 °F covers most indoor plant environments and unheated outdoor enclosures in temperate climates.
