Telemecanique XCKD6818G11 is a compact general-duty limit switch from the Osiswitch family, built with a ZAMAK metal body and a thermoplastic roller lever actuator. It carries 2NO slow make/break contacts rated for 240 VAC at 10 A and 250 VDC at 0.27 A — the AC side handles typical motor control circuits and solenoid loads, while the DC rating is modest, suited for low-current signal switching rather than power interruption. Enclosure is IP66/IP67 and NEMA 1/2/4/6/12/13, meaning it's sealed against hose-directed water and temporary submersion — good for washdown zones, outdoor conveyors, and machine-tool coolant splash. Approvals include UL and CSA, with applicable standards EN/IEC 60204-1 and EN/IEC 60947-5-1 — the latter is the limit-switch performance standard for industrial controlgear. This switch is rated for use in safety circuits per those standards, though it is not itself a safety-rated component with SIL/PL declaration.
The UPC is 78590198647 (12-digit: 785901986478). This is a standard Square D / Telemecanique catalog item; no official successor has been published because none is needed.
Integration Notes
Connection is via a PG11 cable gland with screw-clamp terminals inside. The PG11 entry accepts cable diameters roughly 5–10 mm; the screw clamps take solid or stranded wire without ferrules. No special tooling needed — a flathead screwdriver and a PG11 spanner are all that's required on site. Body is ZAMAK die-cast zinc alloy — tough enough for repeated impact from a lever arm, but not stainless. In corrosive washdown or salt-spray environments, consider a plastic-body or stainless variant from the same XCKD family if the metal body shows pitting over time. The 2NO slow make/break configuration means both contacts close together and open together — no overlap. For applications needing a NC safety break before the NO closes (positive-opening), a different contact block is required.
