Heavy duty limit switch for washdown and corrosive environments
The XCKJ105H7 is a heavy duty, non-plug-in limit switch from the Osiswitch line, built for machine safety and position sensing in wet or washdown zones. The ZAMAK zinc alloy body and IP66/NEMA 1/2/4/12 enclosure mean it survives direct hose-down and corrosive atmospheres without the body degrading – a common failure point on painted die-cast switches in food or chemical plants. Contact rating splits sharply between AC and DC: 10 A at 240 VAC covers most motor starter and relay coils, but the DC rating drops to 0.27 A at 250 VDC. That 0.27 A ceiling is the real constraint for DC valve solenoids or interlock circuits – a 24 VDC solenoid pulling 0.5 A will weld the contacts. Stay below 0.27 A on DC or add a suppression network.
Rotary head snap action – cam-follower duty
Rotary head with spring-return snap action, operating force 33.3 oz-in. The snap action gives clean break on slow cam profiles – no contact teasing at the transition point. The 1/2 NPT cable gland entry accepts standard metallic or liquid-tight conduit; no adapter needed for North American conduit runs. SPDT contact configuration (one NO, one NC) lets you wire a safety circuit on the NC side and a status signal on the NO side from a single switch. Complies with EN/IEC 60204-1 and EN/IEC 60947-5-1 – the machine safety standard for position switches in Europe and the product standard for control circuit devices.
Lifecycle and sourcing – active, no phase-out
Operating temperature range -13 to 158°F covers freezer environments to hot washdown zones. The ZAMAK body and IP66 seal hold up in the temperature extremes without the gasket hardening or the housing cracking.
