The Square D XCKJ261 is a heavy-duty, non-plug-in limit switch from the Osiswitch family, built for environments where ingress and mechanical abuse are the real killers. It carries a contact rating of 240 VAC 10 A and 250 VDC 0.27 A, so it handles typical motor control and signaling circuits on the AC side, but the DC rating is low — 0.27 A at 250 VDC means it's really only good for low-current pilot duty or small relays on DC; don't plan on switching a DC contactor coil directly without checking the inrush. The enclosure is NEMA 1/2/4/12 and IP66, which means it'll survive washdown, dust, and oil spray on a conveyor line or a machine tool. The body is ZAMAK zinc alloy — tough stuff, won't crack like some plastics out here in the grease. Top rod plunger actuator is simple and reliable for linear cam or slide applications.
Approvals include UL and CSA, so it's accepted across North American panels without a second look. Applicable standards are EN/IEC 60204-1 and EN/IEC 60947-5-1, covering machinery safety and control circuit devices.
Installation Notes
Connection is via a PG13.5 cable gland and screw-clamp terminals. Strip length around 8 mm works well for the clamp; the gland seals against the cable jacket for the IP66 rating. Operating temperature range is -13 to 158 °F (-25 to 70 °C), so it's fine for most indoor industrial environments but watch it near ovens or outdoor direct sun. Contact configuration is two SPDT (form C) circuits, giving you both NO and NC per switch. That's handy for dual-channel safety circuits or feeding both a PLC input and a status lamp from one actuator.
