Safety limit switch for guarded position detection
The Telemecanique XCKJ5990 is a safety limit switch rated IP65, with a normally open and normally closed contact block. It is designed for position detection on moving machine parts where a positive-break safety function is required — the NO and NC contacts provide the dual-channel feedback needed for safety circuit monitoring. Actuation speed spans 0.01 to 0.5 m/s, which covers the range of slow-moving guards, doors, and dampers. The switch is specified without locking of the actuator, meaning the actuator is free to return when the cam or ramp passes — suited for applications where the guard position is held mechanically rather than by the switch itself.
The NO/NC contact block provides the two-channel isolation that safety relays and safety PLCs expect for monitoring guard position.
