The Square D XCKM510 is a general duty, compact limit switch from the Osiswitch family, built for position sensing in industrial control circuits where panel space is tight and the environment stays within a reasonable range. It carries a metal end plunger actuator with spring-return snap action, pretravel of 1.8 mm and total travel of 5.5 mm, so it registers the mechanical position of a cam or slide quickly and repeats within the mechanical tolerance of the linkage. Rated 240 VAC at 3 amperes and 250 VDC at 0.27 ampere, the contact block is a single-pole double-throw arrangement — 1 normally-open and 1 normally-closed, slow make/break — which gives you both a seal-in and a trip signal from one switch body. The DC rating is low enough that you need to confirm the inductive load current if you are switching a DC solenoid or relay coil; 0.27 A at 250 VDC is roughly 67 W of resistive breaking capacity, and inductive loads will arc longer, so derate accordingly.
Construction and Environment
The body is die-cast ZAMAK zinc alloy, which holds up to vibration and light impact in a panel or on a machine frame. The cable entry is a PG11 gland with screw-clamp terminals inside — no connector, so you terminate the field wiring directly into the switch.
