Compact general-duty limit switch with IP66 sealing
The XCKML102 is a general duty compact limit switch from the Schneider Electric Osiswitch line, built for position sensing on industrial machinery, conveyors, and automated gates where space is tight but sealing matters. The ZAMAK zinc alloy body and NEMA 1/2/4/6/6P/12/13 / IP66 enclosure mean it handles washdown, dust, and temporary submersion — suitable for food processing, packaging lines, and outdoor material handling without an additional protective cover.
Contact rating split — AC vs DC matters
Rated 240 VAC at 3 A and 250 VDC at 0.27 A — the DC rating is an order of magnitude lower because DC arcs sustain longer. For a 24 VDC PLC input circuit the 0.27 A ceiling is generous, but switching a solenoid or brake at 125 VDC needs the actual load current checked against that 0.27 A limit. The SPDT 2NO-2NC double-break contact configuration gives both normally-open and normally-closed poles in one switch body, so a single unit can signal a position change and also interrupt a safety circuit or interlock.
Steel roller plunger actuator — cam-following duty
The steel roller plunger actuator with 4 mm pretravel and 2 mm differential travel is designed for cam-driven or linear-slide actuation — the roller reduces side-load wear on the plunger compared to a plain pin plunger, extending mechanical life in high-cycle applications.
Wiring and standards compliance
Termination is via a 13 mm cable gland with screw-clamp terminals inside — the gland accepts standard metric conduit or cable, and the screw clamps handle solid or stranded wire up to roughly 14 AWG without ferrules. Meets EN/IEC 60204-1 (machine safety — electrical equipment) and EN/IEC 60947-5-1 (control circuit devices — switching elements), with UL and CSA approvals for North American panel builds.
