What the ratings mean for fit
The XCMD2145M12 is a miniature snap-action limit switch from the Square D Telemecanique XCMD family, built for position sensing in tight spaces. The 1NO-1NC contact block is rated 240 VAC 1.5 A and 250 VDC 0.1 A — that DC rating is the limiting factor for inductive loads like small solenoids or DC relays; stay within 0.1 A at 250 VDC or derate accordingly. The 0.1 N tripping force makes it sensitive enough for light-touch actuation, so it suits low-force cam or lever followers on packaging or assembly lines. The metal body and NEMA 4X/6P/12/13 plus IP66/IP67 enclosure mean it withstands hose-down cleaning, corrosive washdowns, and temporary submersion — a fit for food-and-bev, chemical, or outdoor conveyor applications where plastic-bodied switches would fail. The M12 4-pin male connector simplifies field wiring and replacement: no need to open the enclosure or re-terminate stranded wire.
Integration and deployment context
Mounts via the standard miniature limit-switch footprint — 1.18 in wide, 0.63 in deep, 1.97 in tall. The thermoplastic roller lever actuator is field-rotatable in 90° increments to suit approach direction. Spring-return snap action gives positive break on the NC contact, which is the safety-critical half of the 1NO-1NC pair. Actuation speed rated at 1.5 m/s; faster cam profiles may cause contact bounce or miss the snap point.
