M8 Shielded Inductive, 3 mm Sensing Range
The XS108B3NAM8 is an 8 mm diameter shielded inductive proximity sensor from the Schneider Electric XS1 series, with a maximum sensing distance of 3 mm on mild steel. The shielded (flush-mountable) design means it can be embedded in a metal bracket without false triggering — useful when the sensor needs to sit flush with the machine frame or a guide rail. Output is NPN normally open, 3-wire, rated 200 mA maximum load at 12-24 VDC. The M8 quick-disconnect connector (3-pin) lets you swap the sensor without pulling cable through conduit — a time-saver when a sensor fails on a packaging line or conveyor.
IP67, 303 Stainless, -13 to 158 °F
Rated IP65 and IP67, the 303 stainless steel body (nickel-plated finish) handles washdown environments — food processing, beverage lines, or outdoor conveyor systems where moisture and corrosion are routine. The operating range is -13 °F to 158 °F, so it works in refrigerated areas and near ovens without issue. Built-in overload, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection mean the sensor won't fail if a wire gets pinched or the load shorts — that's another SKU I don't need to stock as a spare. The amber LED indicator gives a quick visual on the switching state during commissioning or troubleshooting.
