2.5 mm flush sensing in an 8 mm barrel
The XS108B3PAL2 detects ferrous targets at 2.5 mm with a flush-mount (shielded) construction, meaning the barrel face can be level with the mounting surface — no dead zone around the sensor head for machine frames or fixturing plates. The 8 mm nickel-plated brass barrel and PPS sensing face hold IP65/67, so this sensor survives washdown and coolant splash in tight machine cavities where a 12 mm or 18 mm barrel won't fit.
Switching speed and loop compatibility
Rated switching frequency of 2500 Hz means the output can catch parts moving past at line rate — above that, the PLC input filter must be set fast enough to not miss edges. PNP normally-open output at 200 mA load current sinks into a standard 24 VDC PLC input module; the 3-wire 2 m PVC cable lands directly in the terminal strip without an interposing relay for most digital inputs. Operating voltage range of 12 to 24 VDC covers nominal 24 V control loops with margin for brownout conditions down to 12 V.
