The XS112BLNAL2: IP67 and NEMA 4X mean this sensor handles washdowns, dust, and condensation — common in food packaging, conveyor wash bays, or outdoor machine covers. The brass body with nickel plating resists corrosion from cutting fluids and mild chemicals. Supply voltage is 12–24 V DC, with a 200 mA load current max. That 200 mA is the total load across the output transistor — don't try to switch a solenoid coil without a snubber, but a 24 V DC relay coil is fine. The shielded sensing face means metal around the sensor doesn't steal detection range; you can mount it in a steel bracket flush with the target.
