Product details

5 mm shielded, 24-240 V — universal AC/DC barrel sensor

The XS1M18MA250L1 is a Telemecanique OsiSense M18 inductive proximity sensor with a 5 mm shielded sensing face — flush-mount rated, so it detects metal targets without needing a non-ferrous standoff zone around the barrel. That matters when you're drilling into a bracket that already has a pilot hole pattern. It runs on 24 to 240 VAC or 24 to 210 VDC, two-wire NO output, and switches loads up to 300 mA AC or 200 mA DC. The wide voltage range means it drops into legacy 120 VAC panels or modern 24 VDC PLC inputs without swapping the sensor — one part number covers both.

IP68 and NEMA 4X — washdown-ready without the connector hassle

Rated IP68 and NEMA 3/4X/6P/12/13, the nickel-plated brass body and PPS sensing face handle high-pressure washdown, dust, and temporary submersion. The 5 m PVC cable exits the barrel directly — no separate connector to seal, no O-ring to lose. For food, beverage, or outdoor conveyor lines, that's one less leak path. Switching frequency is 25 Hz on AC and 2000 Hz on DC. If the target passes faster than 25 times a second on AC, the output pulse narrows and the PLC input may miss it — DC mode gives you the headroom for higher-speed counting.

Frequently asked questions

Will XS1M18MA250L1 drop into a panel that was specified around XS1M18MA250A without rewiring?

The XS1M18MA250A uses a 3-pin 7/8-inch male mini connector; the XS1M18MA250L1 has a 5 m PVC cable. Both are M18 shielded, 5 mm, 2-wire NO, with the same voltage and current ratings. The panel wiring is the same — you just swap the cable gland for the connector or vice versa. No rewiring needed at the sensor end.
