Inductive proximity sensor, 4 mm diameter, shielded
The XS1N05NA310 is a 4 mm cylindrical inductive proximity sensor from the XS1 series, shielded to allow flush mounting in metal. It switches on a 1 mm sensing distance and delivers an NPN normally open signal — a clean fit for 24 VDC sinking inputs on a PLC or motion controller. Overload and short circuit protection are built in, which is unusual at this diameter and saves an external fuse on the output line.
Mounting and wiring
The shielded sensing face allows the sensor to be mounted flush with the mounting surface in steel or aluminum without reducing sensing distance. A 2 m bare-wire cable (3-wire, NPN) exits the nickel-plated brass body. Wire to a 5–24 VDC supply; the NPN output pulls low when the target is within 1 mm. IP67 sealing handles washdown and coolant splash.
