M12 shielded inductive proximity, 4 mm range, NPN NO
The XS1N12NA349D is a Schneider Electric Series XS1 inductive proximity sensor in a standard M12 threaded cylindrical brass housing with a nickel-plated finish. It is a shielded (flush-mountable) sensor with a rated sensing distance of 4 mm on mild steel. Output is NPN normally open (NO), switching a maximum load current of 200 mA from a 12-24 VDC supply. The 3-wire, 4-pin M12 connector provides a direct electrical connection without a pigtail.
Sealing and environmental rating
Rated IP67 and IP69K, the sensor body and the M12 connector interface withstand high-pressure, high-temperature washdown — a requirement for food-and-beverage and heavy-washdown production lines. The brass housing and nickel plating resist corrosion in these environments. Operating temperature range is -13 °F to 122 °F (-25 °C to 50 °C), covering most indoor industrial and conditioned outdoor enclosures.
Protection circuitry and compliance
Built-in overload, reverse polarity, and short-circuit protection reduce the risk of field-side damage from wiring errors or a stalled target. The sensor carries CE, CSA, RoHS, and UL Listing approvals, covering North American and European regulatory acceptance. An integral LED indicator gives local status confirmation during commissioning and troubleshooting.
