What it is and what it does
The XS1N30PA349D is a current-production inductive proximity sensor from the Telemecanique XS1 cylindrical series. It detects ferrous targets up to 20 mm without contact — the shielding gives a focused detection zone, so it's suited for flush mounting in metal, not for wide-area presence. Rated for 12–24 VDC, this sensor switches a PNP normally-open output over the three wires to an M12 connector. The brass body, nickel plated, carries IP67 and IP69K ratings — it handles washdown environments without an extra enclosure. Includes overload, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection.
