The XS212AAPAM12 is a current-production M12 inductive proximity sensor from the XS2 series, delivering an 8 mm maximum sensing distance with an unshielded face and a PNP normally-open output.
Rated IP67 and IP69K along with a NEMA 4X enclosure — this sensor withstands high-pressure washdown and corrosive environments, so it is a direct fit for food processing, car wash, or outdoor conveyor lines where standard IP67 sensors fail under repeated hot-water spray. DC supply range 12–48 V; load current 200 mA. Unshielded design gives a longer sensing range for its 12 mm diameter: 8 mm on mild steel versus typically 4 mm for a shielded version, but it detects metal behind a non-metallic window — keep the sensing face free of nearby metal.
The XS2 series is a long-running Telemecanique line, and this variant carries the standard M12 quick-disconnect (4-pin, PNP), which means it drops into existing sockets without wiring changes.
