Field commissioning note
Telemecanique XS212SANAL2 inductive proximity sensor – 12mm threaded barrel, NPN normally‑open output, 7mm flush sensing range. Switching at 2500 Hz it keeps up with fast indexing or counting lines. The 316L stainless steel body and IP68/IP69K enclosure let it survive hose‑down washdown zones without a cover. 10–36 VDC supply, 200 mA load current, 2m PVC cable – three‑wire hookup, brown to +VDC, blue to 0V, black to the load.
Lifecycle & compliance
Marked as current production – no end‑of‑life notice. Holds UL, CSA, CE approvals, so it clears most North American and European panel spec gates. RoHS/REACH status is not in this record, but the CE mark implies compliance. The brand document pack includes the approval certificates; request them with the RFQ if your quality team needs a hard copy.
Integration checklist
Mounts via the 12mm threaded body – use two lock nuts or a jam nut. Sensing face is PPS (polypropylene sulfide), compatible with most coolants and mild acids. The 2m PVC cable is pre‑attached; route it away from high‑frequency inverter cables to avoid false triggers. Screw terminals inside the panel: brown to +VDC, blue to 0VDC, black to the PLC input. Wire the load between black and +VDC for NPN sinking logic. The IP69K rating holds only with the cable gland fully tightened against the sensor body.
