The XS230BLNAL2 is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor from Telemecanique's XS2 series, in an M30 threaded brass barrel with nickel-plated finish. It senses up to 15 mm unshielded, outputs NPN normally open, and runs on 12-24 VDC at a maximum load current of 200 mA. The 2 m prewired cable with bare ends connects directly to terminal blocks. The IP67 and NEMA 4X ratings suit installations where the sensor sees coolant splash, washdown, or outdoor exposure. The M30 barrel fits standard mounting clamps and drilled holes for 30 mm cylindrical sensors.
Wiring and mounting notes
Three wires: brown to +VDC, blue to common, black to the PLC sinking input. Rated 200 mA max, so it drives a PLC input or a small relay directly. The unshielded sensing face requires a 15 mm gap to ferrous metal targets; derating applies for non-ferrous. Mount with an M30 nut and lock washer, torque to manufacturer specification.
