The Telemecanique XS2M18KP340D is an 18 mm threaded barrel inductive proximity sensor from the OsiSense XS series. It detects metal targets at 8 mm with an unshielded face, switches at 2000 Hz, and runs on 12 to 24 VDC. The output is configurable as NPN or PNP, and normally-open or normally-closed, giving one part number that adapts to different PLC input modules. Enclosure rating IP68 and NEMA 3, 4X, 6P, 12, 13 allows use in washdown environments and wet locations.
Mounting and range
Because the sensor is unshielded, it must not be flush-mounted in metal — the 8 mm sensing distance is only achieved with a non-flush installation. Nickel-plated brass body and PPS sensing face resist corrosion and mechanical wear.
Switching performance
2000 Hz switching frequency supports high-speed part counting or cam detection. The 200 mA load current is sufficient to drive a relay or small contactor directly.
