30 mm unshielded inductive sensor — still in production, ready to source
The XS4P30MA230K is a 30 mm barrel, unshielded inductive sensor from Square D's OsiSense line, with a 15 mm front sensing range for ferrous targets. It's a 2-wire normally-open output that runs on 24 to 240 VAC or 24 to 210 VDC — that wide supply makes it handy for mixed-voltage panels where you don't want to drop a separate DC rail. Switching frequency is 25 Hz on AC and 1000 Hz on DC, so it handles slower conveyor stops or position detection on AC, and faster cycling on DC. Load current ranges from 5 to 300 mA on AC, 5 to 200 mA on DC. The 3-pin 1/2-20 UNF male micro connector is standard for M30 sensors, but check your existing cable's mating thread – it's not a generic M12 or pigtail. Body material is PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), rated NEMA 3/4X/6P/12/13 and IP67 – fine for washdown and corrosive environments. Sensing face is also PPS. UL, CSA, CE approvals on file.
How it compares to XS4P18MA230K — same electrical, different mechanical
Enclosure on the 18 mm variant is IP68 vs IP67 on the 30 mm, but both are NEMA 3/4X/6P/12/13. The 18 mm also switches at 2000 Hz on DC (vs 1000 Hz), which may matter for very fast cycling – otherwise the electrical specs are identical.
