The XS508B1DAL2 is a 2-wire DC normally-open inductive proximity sensor from the XS5 line. It's a sealed cylindrical unit — M8 threaded, shielded face, stainless steel 303 body with nickel plating. Sensing distance is 2 mm on mild steel, and it runs on 12-48 VDC. Output switches up to 100 mA. Prewired with a 2-meter cable, bare wire termination. IP67 and NEMA 4X handle washdown areas.
Shielded face concentrates the field forward — less side-interference in tight mounting arrays, useful when sensors are packed close together. Stainless steel 303 body resists corrosion; nickel-plated finish adds abrasion resistance. Indicator light gives a direct visual on state. The 2 mm sensing distance is short enough for precision target detection but requires close proximity; plan your bracket standoffs accordingly.
