This Telemecanique XS512B1PAL2 is an inductive proximity sensor from the XS5 series, rated IP68/IP69K for the harshest washdown environments. The nickel-plated brass body resists corrosion and caustic cleaning chemicals, making it a fit for dairy, beverage, or food processing lines that see daily CIP cycles. The sensor is shielded, with a 2 mm sensing distance on mild steel. That close range means the target must be within 2 mm and the sensor mounted flush in metal, which is typical for cam detection or end-of-stroke on valves and actuators. The M12 threaded barrel is a common package, interchangeable with many M12 inductive sensors on the same mounting hole pattern. Output is PNP normally open, sinking up to 200 mA. Three wires (brown/blue/black) with a 2 m pigtail — no connector to lose or corrode in wet zones.
