What it is and what it does
The XS518BLPAM12 is an XS5 series cylindrical inductive proximity sensor from Telemecanique Sensors. It delivers a 5 mm shielded sensing distance, PNP normally-open output, and a 3-wire M12 connector. Body is brass with nickel plating, rated IP67 and IP69K, so it handles hose-down and corrosive atmospheres — the kind you find in lift stations or washdown zones.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 5 mm shielded sensing range is flush-mountable in metal; the PNP NO output suits PLC inputs. IP69K covers high-pressure washdown, and the brass nickel-plated body resists mild corrosion.
Integration notes
The 74 mm cylindrical body has an M12 connector (male, 4-pin, 3 wires used). Supply voltage 12-48 VDC; ensure power supply stays above 12 V under load, and overload, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection are built-in.
