What you're getting – the sensor that ends washdown callbacks
Telemecanique XS530B1PAL2 is a shielded M30 threaded inductive proximity sensor from the XS5 series, prewired with 2 m of bare-wire cable for quick termination. It switches PNP outputs at 200 mA over a 12-24V DC supply, giving you a standard 3-wire interface that mates directly to a PLC input card without extra circuitry. The IP68/IP69K rating means this sensor holds up under high-pressure hot water washdown and temporary submersion – think food processing lines, conveyor belt tunnels, or outdoor vehicle wash bays. NEMA 4X adds corrosion resistance for chemical splashes. Built-in overload, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection are the killers here. On a midnight startup, that saved my panel from a swapped wire messing up the 24V rail. The amber LED indicator confirms target presence, so you can verify without a meter.
Mounting and wiring notes for the field
M30 threaded body, shielded face – flush mounting does not derate the 10 mm sensing distance. Brass, nickel-plated barrel. Three bare wires: brown (V+), blue (V-), black (PNP NO). Land on a terminal block or PLC input.
