M8 threaded, stainless, shielded — 3 mm on mild steel
The XS608B1PAL2 is a shielded M8 inductive proximity sensor from the XS6 series, built with a 303 stainless steel barrel and nickel-plated finish. The 3 mm maximum sensing distance is specified on mild steel — the standard correction factor for stainless targets drops that to roughly 2 mm, so budget the target material into the gap. Output is PNP normally-open, switching up to 200 mA at 12–48 VDC. The 3-wire prewired cable runs 2 m with bare-wire ends — no connector, so it terminates directly in a terminal block or junction box.
IP67, NEMA 4X — washdown and outdoor duty
Rated IP67 and NEMA 4X, the stainless barrel and sealed cable entry let this sensor sit in wet environments — washdown zones, outdoor conveyors, or food-processing areas where the housing sees hose spray. The operating range is -13 °F to 158 °F (-25 °C to 70 °C). The shielded sensing face means it can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the detection range — useful when the sensor needs to sit in a drilled hole in a machine frame or bracket.
