The XS608B1PAM12 is a current-production inductive proximity sensor from the XS6 line, sized for compact sensing positions where a shielded M8 body can flush-mount into metal. Rated for 3 mm detection range on steel targets, it offers a PNP normally-open output that sources up to 200 mA directly into a PLC input or relay. Supply is 12–48 V DC, and the M12 quick-disconnect connector carries the three wires (brown, blue, black). The stainless steel 303 barrel and nickel-plated body finish hold IP67 and NEMA 4X ingress rating, so it suits washdown environments. Because it is shielded, the sensor can be embedded flush into a mounting block with no reduction in sensing distance — useful when space is tight or when the sensor must sit below the surface of a fixture. The extended-range feature (indicated in the part's feature tag) provides slightly higher nominal sensing distance than a standard shielded M8 inductive sensor, though still within the shielded envelope.
