4 mm flush sensing in a 12 mm barrel
The XS612B1PBL5 is a flush-mount inductive proximity sensor with a 4 mm sensing distance on mild steel — the correction factor for stainless is about 0.7×, so budget 2.8 mm in a stainless target application. The 12 mm nickel-plated brass barrel and PPS sensing face handle standard M12 mounting holes and resist chemical washdown. Output is PNP normally-closed (NC) — the load current is 200 mA, enough to drive a PLC input or small relay directly. Switching frequency is 2500 Hz, so it catches fast-moving targets on a conveyor or rotary indexer without the PLC missing edges. Operating voltage is 12 to 48 VDC, covering common 24 VDC control systems with headroom for longer cable runs. The 5 m PVR cable is factory-attached and rated for flexing in cable tracks — no connector to seal or lose.
IP68/69K — washdown and high-pressure spray rated
The IP68/69K enclosure means the sensor body and cable entry survive continuous immersion (IP68) and high-temperature, high-pressure washdown (IP69K) — common in food-and-beverage or car-wash lines. Operating temperature range is -13 to 158 °F, so it works in cold storage or near ovens without derating.
