The Telemecanique XS612B2PAL01M12 is a shielded M12 inductive proximity sensor from the XS6 series, built for wet, high-pressure washdown environments. Its IP67 and IP69K ratings, combined with a nickel-plated brass body and NEMA 4X enclosure, make it a fit for food processing, beverage, and pharmaceutical lines where hot caustic CIP cycles are routine. Output is PNP, normally open, switching up to 100 mA at 12-24V DC over a 3-wire, M12 direct connector interface. The sensing range is adjustable from 4 mm (minimum) to 8 mm (maximum), and the shielded face allows flush mounting in metal surfaces without derating.
Washdown fit and mounting
The IP69K rating allows use in high-pressure washdown environments. The brass housing with nickel plating resists corrosion from caustic and acidic cleaners. Use the included 0.15 m pigtail with a direct connector for quick replacement — no rewiring needed when the sensor body is swapped. Since it's shielded, you can mount it flush into a stainless steel bracket or tank wall. The M12 thread (nominal 12 mm diameter) fits standard drillings; overall length is 59 mm. Verify the sensing face is clear of metal chips or buildup to maintain the 4-8 mm switching gap.
