M18 inductive proximity sensor with NPN NC output and wide voltage range
Square D Osisense XS618B1NBL2 is an M18 threaded tubular inductive proximity sensor, NPN NC output, rated for 12 to 48 VDC and switching 200 mA. Its 0.31-inch front sensing distance with a 1000 Hz switching frequency makes it suited for metal part detection in tight spaces. The IP68/69K enclosure and nickel-plated brass body stand up to washdown environments.
Not interchangeable with rectangular block PNP sibling
The XS9E11RPBL01M12 is a rectangular block sensor with PNP output, 10 mm sensing distance, IP67, and 800 Hz switching frequency. Its output logic (PNP sourcing) and rectangular footprint require different wiring and mounting than the tubular NPN XS618B1NBL2. Do not treat them as direct drop-ins without verifying the control circuit and mechanical interface.
Wiring and mounting notes
The 2-meter 3-wire cable with NC NPN output expects a sinking (NPN) input on the PLC or controller. Flush mounting is standard for this M18 sensor; the long case adds about 2.44 inches beyond the threaded length, so ensure clearance in the bracket or standoff.
