What it is and what it does
The Telemecanique Sensors XS630B1MAU20 is an M30 threaded cylindrical inductive proximity sensor in the XS6 series, built as a shielded, 2-wire AC/DC device with a 1/2 in built-in connector and a normally-open output. It carries the Extended Range designation, so it gives an 8 mm minimum to 15 mm maximum sensing distance — useful where the target travel or mounting tolerance won't sit inside the tighter window of a standard-range M30.
Supply, load, and switching envelope
Supply rating spans 24–240V AC and 24–240V DC on two wires, with a 300 mA maximum load current. The 2-wire AC/DC topology means the sensor is wired in series with the load rather than as a sourcing/sinking three- or four-wire device; LED indicator lights on the body confirm target presence and supply status at a glance during commissioning.
Ingress, body, and environment
Sealing is IP67 and IP69K with a NEMA 4X enclosure rating, nickel-plated brass body — meaning it survives high-temperature, high-pressure washdown and outdoor exposure better than a plastic-bodied equivalent. Operating temperature runs -13 °F to 158 °F, so unheated outdoor cabinets and standard indoor panels are both inside the envelope without derating.
Compliance envelope
The part is CE marked, CSA certified, RoHS compliant, and UL Listed — the expected compliance stack for an M30 industrial proximity sensor specified into North American machinery.
How it sits against the wired siblings in the same family
Against the prewired 2 m cable sibling XS630B1MAL2, the delta is the electrical connection: this part terminates in a 1/2 in connector at 73 mm overall height, while the cable version ships with a 2 m pigtail at a shorter 62 mm body.
