M30 shielded inductive — 15 mm on mild steel, IP69K washdown rated
The XS630B1NAL2 is a shielded M30 inductive proximity sensor from the XS6 series, delivering a 15 mm sensing distance on mild steel with an NPN normally-open output. The shielded face lets it mount flush in a steel bracket without sensing the bracket itself — the 8 mm minimum distance is the dead-band when the target is too close to reset. Rated IP68 and IP69K, the brass nickel-plated barrel and cable entry survive high-pressure washdown and temporary submersion — the IP69K rating specifically covers 80°C water at 80-100 bar, so this sensor lives on food-processing or washdown conveyor lines where standard IP67 sensors fail at the seal face. Supply voltage is 12-48V DC, with a 200 mA maximum load current driving a PLC input or relay coil directly. The NPN output sinks current to ground — confirm your input module is sourcing type before wiring.
Current production — approvals and compliance stack
NEMA 4X enclosure rating matches the IP68/IP69K ingress protection — suitable for indoor washdown and outdoor non-corrosive environments. The 2 m prewired cable with bare-wire termination means no separate cordset to source; strip and land in the terminal block or M12 pigtail.
Sourcing and BOM fit
The XS6 series Extended Range feature gives a 15 mm shielded sensing distance in an M30 package — typical shielded M30 sensors stop at 10 mm. If the panel was specified around a shorter-range shielded M30 (like the XSAV02801 at 15 mm but with a 2-wire AC/DC NC output), the XS630B1NAL2 drops into the same 30 mm mounting hole but requires a 3-wire DC NPN input card and a NO logic check.
