What it is
The Telemecanique XS630B2PAL01M12 is an M30 threaded cylindrical inductive proximity sensor in the XS6 series, with a nickel-plated brass body, a 4-pin M12 connector on a 0.15 m pigtail, and indicator lights on the body for local state feedback. Inductive sensing means it detects metallic targets without contact, switching a PNP normally-open output when a target enters the rated range.
Ratings that drive the fit
Supply is rated 12–24V DC; AC supply is not rated on this sensor, so it belongs on a DC control bus. Load current is rated 100 mA maximum on the PNP output — sufficient to drive a PLC fast input or a small relay coil directly, but not a contactor coil without an interposing relay. Sensing distance is specified as 15 mm minimum to 40 mm maximum, with shielded (flush-mountable) geometry in the M30 form factor. Operating temperature spans -13 °F to 158 °F, which covers most factory floors including unheated bays and most washdown enclosures.
Environmental envelope and approvals
Sealing is IP67 and IP69K, with a NEMA 4X enclosure rating, so the sensor is built for high-pressure, high-temperature washdown as well as continuous wet environments. Declared compliance covers CE, CSA, RoHS, and UL Listed — the standard industrial cross-reference packet for a European-built sensor going into a North American panel.
