The Telemecanique XS7C1A1PAL01M12 is a rectangular inductive proximity sensor from the XS7 family, sized at 40 mm W × 15 mm D × 40 mm H. It detects ferrous targets up to 15 mm from the front face and switches at up to 1000 Hz — fast enough for counting or position sensing on a moderate-speed packaging or conveyor line. The 15 mm sensing distance means it can detect a target through a thin non-metallic barrier or at a practical standoff, but it is not shielded — keep metal adjacent to the face within that range to avoid false triggers. Rated IP67 and NEMA 1/4X/12, the PBT housing withstands washdown and dust ingress, so it is suited for food-and-bev or wet-process areas where hose-down cleaning is routine.
Output and wiring
Output is PNP normally open, switching 100 mA max at 12 to 24 VDC. Three-wire configuration with a 0.1 m pigtail terminating in a 4-pin M12 connector — mates to standard M12 quick-disconnect cordsets. The LED indicator on the body gives a local status check during commissioning.
Approvals include UL, CSA, and CE, covering North American and European installations without additional certification work.
