The XS8C1A1MAL01U20: Size C shielded inductive proximity sensor, 25 mm maximum sensing distance. The 2-wire AC/DC supply (24-240 VAC / 24-240 VDC) drops into any control circuit without polarity fuss — rated NO, 300 mA load. IP67 and NEMA 4X enclosure handles washdown; Ecolab listing (per) fits food-zone environments. The 0.15 m pigtail with 1/2 in connector expects a mating cordset — add that to your BOM.
How it compares to the Size D sibling
The XS8D1A1MAL2 is the larger Size D variant (80x80x26 mm) with 60 mm sensing range, 2 m prewired cable, and no indicator light. The C frame here (40x40x15 mm) saves panel space but gives up sensing reach. If your application needs visible LED confirmation at the sensor, this MAL01U20 keeps it; the D version omits it.
