Integration note
The XS8D1A1PBM12 is an unshielded inductive proximity sensor from the Telemecanique XS8 line, packing a 60 mm front sensing distance into an 80 x 80 x 26 mm block. Its PNP normally-closed output switches at 150 Hz — enough for conveyor part-present or pick-and-place confirmation. Supply it with 12 to 24 VDC, and the 200 mA maximum load drives a PLC input directly.

Wiring
Connection is through a 4-pin M12 male connector, wired with three conductors: brown (V+), blue (V-), and black (PNP NC output). The fourth pin is unused on a 3-wire sensor. Verify the free-wheel diode polarity if switching an inductive load — the LED indicator helps with on-site troubleshooting.
