Product details

The XS930R4PAM12 is a 30 mm diameter tubular inductive proximity sensor from the Telemecanique OsiSense XS family. It detects ferrous metal objects at up to 40 mm (unshielded) and outputs a PNP normally-open signal. Spec out for a 12 – 24 VDC supply; it sinks 200 mA max and switches at 90 Hz – adequate for moderate-speed part detection but not for high-speed counting lines.

The 40 mm sensing range is long for a 30 mm barrel. That comes from the unshielded (non-flush) design – you need free space around the face; don't embed it in metal. The IP68 / 69K enclosure lets it survive washdown, submersion, and high-pressure steam cleaning, common in food and beverage lines. Both body and sensing face are 303 stainless steel, so it holds up in corrosive or abrasive environments where nickel-plated brass sensors would pit.
