Sensing range and output logic for rotation monitoring
The XSAV32801L05: The operating zone is 0 to 8 mm, with a repeat accuracy of 3% of Sr and a differential travel of 3 to 15% of Fr — this hysteresis prevents chatter from shaft wobble or vibration in a rotating target. The output is a single NC (normally closed) discrete function, 2-wire AC/DC, switching up to 800 Hz. The NC logic means the output opens when metal enters the detection zone — a common fail-safe wiring for rotation monitoring: if the shaft stops, the sensor output stays closed and the controller sees a steady-state signal, triggering an alarm.
Supply voltage and load switching capacity
This wide-range supply means the sensor can be dropped into existing 24 VDC or 120/240 VAC control circuits without a separate power supply — a single part number covers both AC and DC installations. Switching capacity is 5 to 200 mA DC and 5 to 350 mA AC. The voltage drop at closed state is ≤ 5.7 V, and residual current in the open state is ≤ 1.5 mA. For a 2-wire sensor, these leakage and drop values matter when driving PLC inputs or relay coils — confirm the load's minimum holding current exceeds the residual current to avoid false-off states.
Environmental sealing and mechanical fit
IP67 per IEC 60529 — the sensor body and cable entry are sealed against immersion up to 1 m for 30 minutes. The enclosure is nickel-plated brass with a PPS front material, making it suitable for washdown zones and oily environments common on conveyor and packaging lines. Thread type is M30 x 1.5, threaded length 57 mm, overall length 81 mm, height 30 mm. The 5 m cable with 2 x 0.34 mm² conductors gives flexibility for routing through cable trays without a junction box near the sensor.
