What this sensor is and what it switches
The Square D Telemecanique XSDA605539H7 is an inductive proximity sensor with a sensing range of 30 to 60 mm, unshielded, operating on 43 to 132 VAC, and capable of switching up to 500 mA at 10 Hz. Two-wire design with selectable NO/NC output by wiring position, so it fits both fail-safe and standard proximity applications without extra auxiliary relays.
Where it lives: enclosure and mounting
Rated NEMA 3/4X/12/13 and IP67, so it holds up to washdown, dust, and occasional submersion — a common spec for food and beverage or packaging lines. Plastic housing, 80 mm wide by 40 mm deep by 100 mm high, with screw terminals for field wiring. Unshielded means it can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the sensing range. Operating temperature from -13 to 158 °F covers most indoor and covered outdoor installations.
Approvals and sourcing reality
Carries UL, CSA, and CE approvals — enough for North American and European panels without separate certification work.
