The Telemecanique XUAH0224S is a miniature through-beam photoelectric sensor from the XUA series, rated for a 2 m sensing distance with a PNP normally-closed output operating on 12 to 24 VDC. Response time sits at 0.25 milliseconds on/off with a switching frequency of 2000 Hz, which keeps the machine running even in high-speed counting or sheet-break detection applications. The M8 3-pin DC nano male connector mates directly to a standard nano-sized plug – no extra adaptor needed.
Ratings that decide the fit
The 2 m through-beam path is the straight-line distance between emitter and receiver. On a typical dryer section or finishing line you have room for that pair – just verify the beam isn't broken by periodic pass-line oscillations or mist. Response time is 0.25 ms on/off; switching frequency is 2000 Hz. The PNP NC output fails low on beam break, suitable for safety interlocks. The IP67 and NEMA 4/6/6P/12/13 ratings guarantee the sensor will stay sealed during hose-down cleaning and survive the corrosive vapors around a bleach plant or chemical additive station. Nickel-plated brass resists rust better than plain stainless in some chloride environments.
Construction and environment
Threaded brass barrel with PMMA lens. The M8 male connector accepts a standard 3-wire cordset. Approvals UL and CE cover North American and European installations; the Proposition 65 warning is a California-only labeling requirement and does not affect performance or compliance in other jurisdictions.
