Product details

Filler line sensor that shrugs off washdown

Square D Telemecanique XUB0ANSNM12 is a plastic 0.71 inch threaded barrel photoelectric sensor with NPN output, 12 to 24 Volt DC, and a 4-pin connector. IP65/IP67/IP69K enclosure and 2 millisecond response time. Four sensing modes in one body: diffuse to 0.98 ft, diffuse with background suppression to 0.39 ft (grabs the bottle while ignoring the rail), polarised reflex to 9.84 ft, and through-beam to 65.62 ft. Lens is PMMA, load max 100 mA, switching frequency 250 Hz. Comes with UL, CSA, CE and RoHS compliance – documentation for the QA file is standard.

Compared to the cable PNP variant

XUB0APSNL2 is the PNP 2-meter cable version – same sensing ranges, same 18mm plastic barrel, same IP67 rating. But the XUB0ANSNM12 uses an M12 connector (4-pin) instead of attached cable, and its NPN output sinks rather than sources. If your panel was wired around XUB0APSNL2, you'd need to swap the load wiring and possibly the connector, not a blind drop-in. For a fresh build, the connector saves on replacement costs when a cable gets chewed.

Frequently asked questions

Will XUB0ANSNM12 drop into a panel specified around XUB0APSNL2 without rewiring?

Not directly. XUB0APSNL2 is PNP with a 2m cable; XUB0ANSNM12 is NPN with an M12 connector. The mechanical footprint is identical (18mm barrel), but wiring differs on both output polarity and connection type. You'd need to swap the connector and reconfigure the load to sink current.

What compliance documentation comes with XUB0ANSNM12?

The sensor carries UL, CSA, CE approvals and is RoHS compliant. A Proposition 65 warning is also noted on the label.
